Great news for first time home buyers. The First Time Home Buyers Federal Tax Credit has been extended until the end of April! This is a relief to many first time home buyers that procrastinated and missed the November 30th deadline. Hopefully they have now learned from a nearly missed opportunity. Who says opportunity never knocks twice?
The program has also been extended for a $6,500 tax credit for families that are ready to move up from their current home. If you have lived in your current home for at least 5 of the last 8 ears then you are also eligible for the tax credit. There are income restrictions and other variables but is tis a great opportunity for families that have outgrown their current home and ready to move on.
Please do not procrastinate. No, you do not need to buy the first home that you see but you need to realize a great deal when you see it.
