Charlotte is beginning the year with pleasant weather as the northeast and northwest are in the midst of a strong winter. So how does this impact Charlotte Real Estate? Charlotte NC is located in the ideal geographic location. We are far enough north and inland to have rare to minimal impact from hurricanes, and we are far enough south to avoid the vast majority of snow storms but we still are blessed with the change of seasons. Our Fall experiences the change of leaves and our Spring is vibrant with color!
Do we get snow? In North Carolina there is snow. Charlotte borders South Carolina and does not get snow very often. If you live south of I-40 (east to west highway north of Charlotte) you can expect one snow fall and one ice storm a year. Naturally this varies. Two years ago we had about 1 inch of snow and it turned to rain by 9:00 in the morning. Last year we had two snow falls in one week of December (amounted to about a combined 3". It is nice to see snow occasionally but it does not last for long. What is the most important feature about our winter? The blue skies!
Charlotte is not plagued with those "winter gray skies" that is so prevalent in the winter (I was born and raised up north and have lived up north off and on several times throughout my career). Our mornings will be cool but the temperatures will actually warm back into the 50's on a regular basis. This has a profound affect on your happiness.
