As South Charlotte expanded, the affluent lifestyle continued to spread throughout Southpark Real Estate .  Southpark homes always provided a nice area and had the Southpark Mall in the center.  As the area developed into a more commercial/white collar neighborhood, the South Park Real Estate area transformed.  The SouthPark mall now radiates affluence and reflects the success of the neighborhood exemplified with Anchor stores such as Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus.

• The new Elementary school is being constructed on Adrey Kell Rd between Marvin Rd and Johnston.  The school is on the southern side of the road and as of September 2007, the concrete blocks are going up.
• The northern side of Ardrey Kell Rd (across from the new school, has 8/10th of a mile of development.  The new Harris Teeter grocery store is being constructed (cinder blocks about 1/2 complete in September).  The store is scheduled to open in 2008.  There are also going to be additional shopping venues along with townhomes.  The builder is preselling both stores and townhomes.  The infrastructure is already in place and this will be complete soon.
• The new park is already open in South Charlotte.  The park is located behind the elementary school currently under construction.  There is currently a gymnasium, a fishing pond and walking trails.  The park is expanding and will support many additional recreational amenities.
• Next to the school is a private developer and the building is progressing well.  This complex will house a bowling alley and laser tag. 
• The shops at Blakeney continue to expand with the grand opening of the "Home Goods" store and "Marshals".
• On the south east corner of the Ardrey Kell and Rea Rd intersection the apartments are nearing completion.  These are the only apartments in this area and will help balance out the community with a nice mix of housing options.
