Southwest Charlotte Shopping: Walmart was the major shopping area in the southwest until a year ago. Rivergate is a huge shopping area with a Target, TGI Fridays, Home Depot and many new stores opening all the time.  This is located at the intersection of Rt 49 and rt 160.

Southwest Charlotte Hospital: Southwest Charlotte CMC Steele Creek opened on November 16, 2009.  This provides emergency medical care to the rapidly growing Southwest Charlotte.
