One location that is attracting many Charlotte investors is in uptown/downtown (the secret is they are the same place-uptown just sounds more "up" scale). There are many condominiums being built throughout the city. This was largely an area ignored 10 short years ago. As the city continued to grow, planners realized the value to city living. Since that time, the condo market continues to grow. The condos are being done with class. The condos are attracting both the young professionals and the empty nesters that enjoy the city life. One such condo is at Fifth and Poplar. This condo was a renovated apartment building. It now is a spectacular condominium! It is all in the details and convenience. You can walk to the Bank of America stadium or just relax in the courtyard. How about a little practice with your putting? Yes, there is also a putting green in the courtyard. Groceries? This type of upscale living is rapidly expanding in the Charlotte market.
Looking for Charlotte renovation properties? First, a renovation is not paint and carpeting. Investors are purchasing these homes, expanding the square footage (taking advantage of what ever land is available) and making exquisite homes. Granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, gourmet kitchens, hardwoods (not laminate), and tile are the norms in these homes; quality throughout. There are several areas that are in various phases of renovation surrounding the city. The renovations began back in Myers Park, Dilworth and Elizabeth(southern side of the city). These areas offer huge tree lines streets, peace and tranquility all with in minutes of town.
The wave continues through Chantilly and Plaza-Midwood. Plaza Midwood is located to the east of Charlotte and many Charlotte investors have profited in this area. The next area is the Arts District and NoDa (North Davidson). NoDa is located north/northeast of the city and renovation is in full swing. Wesley Heights is another growing area just to the west of Charlotte. Wesley Heights was designated as a historic area in 1994 and continues to recapture it long lost luster.
Any area around the city is destined to be purchased and will net a nice return on your investment.
How about purchasing some land? There is a huge land grab in process all over the greater area. One example of a largely untapped area was in Lancaster county. Carolina Lakes by Del Webb has taken advantage of that opportunity. Carolina Lakes will have up to 4,600 homes for seniors for this exquisite over 55 community. How far out is too far? There will be no such thing as property too far out.
